Anna Gorelova was born in Saint-Petersburg and began to study
the cello with famous russian teacher Nina Zhemoldinova when
she was 10. While still a pupil at the Musical School she was playing
concerts as a soloist at International Festivals in Russia, Germany,
Spain and Norway. In 2003 she graduated from the Saint- Petersburg
State Conservatoire with Highest Departmental Honors in cello. Her
teachers were Sergey Tchernyadiev and Alexey Massarsky. She also has
received coaching from Boris Pergamenshikov and Natalia Gutman.
Anna has established an international reputation as a soloist and
chamber music performer. In recent years she has appeared as a
soloist with orchestras, including National Symphony Orchestra of
Ukraine and Odessa Philharmonic Orchestra.
Since 2000 Anna has been a member of the Atrium String Quar-
tet, with whom she completed her chamber music education at the
Netherland String Quartet Academy (2007) and Hochschule fur Musik
Hanns Eisler in Berlin (Konzertexamen, 2009). As a member of the
quartet she has received numerous awards at International Compe-
titions, including First Prize at the London International and Grand-
Prix at Bordeaux International String Quartet Competitions, and
performed in the best and most famous Concert Halls and Festivals in
Europe and the USA.
