Dear Friends,
This season is a glorious return celebrating the great power of music. Whether you’re eager to hear exciting music by Polish composer Ignacy Paderewski, explore Ukrainian composer Reinhold Gliere’s work, or revel in beloved masterworks by Vivaldi, Brahms, or Liszt, we are here to please your ears!
This season’s concerts highlight our musicians’ talents.
I am excited to welcome several new guest soloists throughout this, our 21st season, including flutist Ebonee Thomas, violinist Giora Schmidt, cellist Julian Schwarz , and violinist Felix Olschofka, as well as our old BCMS friends, Michael Klotz, Bion Tsang, Allan Steele , Pavel Nersessian and many more.
Our September concert will welcome the world renowned “Amernet” string quartet performing a magnificent masterpiece by the great composer, doctor, and chemist Alexander Borodin. Don’t miss our superb opening concert program featuring works by outstanding composers who never quit their day jobs as they continued to serve their passion for music.
For our April concert, is my great pleasure to introduce our audience to the extraordinary pianist and prize winner of the 1997 Van Cliburn International Piano competition, Katia Skanavi, who will present this year’s annual BCMS solo recital program.
I am very excited to welcome wonderful Romanian violinist Irina Muresanu, who, due to Covid, could not play at last season’s scheduled concert. Irina will join me in October along with violist Dmitry Kustanovich as we explore composers from many different countries and backgrounds.
Explore our concerts, meet our guest soloists, and please enjoy this season’s exciting 7 evenings and afternoons all within the intimate atmosphere of the warm and acoustically fabulous living room of Enika and Richard Schulze, our beloved and generous hosts.
I look forward to welcoming you back for our first performance this September, and I can’t wait to share this season of beautiful music-making with you!
With love,
Baya
